Serves for Suicide

What are we about?

Serves for Suicide is a volleyball benefit in honor of SGT Austin Millard. Austin was a member of the Wisconsin National Guard who took his life on November 6th, 2022, leaving behind his wife, three small children, and many family and friends.

An average of 22 veterans commit suicide each day. We are hosting the annual Serves for Suicide event in order to help raise awareness for suicide, especially among service members! All profits from the event will be donated to HOOAH WI.

HOOAH’s mission is to eliminate suicide with a proactive approach to the overall wellness of service members, veterans, and their support systems through multiple programs and certified professionals. HOOAH supports all branches of the U.S Military.

Each year, HOOAH hosts a Veteran Suicide Awareness March. This event honors the lives and service of our service members that have been lost to suicide. Each mile features a boot with a different fallen service member and their story. SGT Austin Millard will be honored each year during this event. Last year, 2022, he was featured at mile marker one.

We will be doing a volleyball tournament honoring Austin and all the proceeds will be going to the HOOAH. We are excited to be able to fundraise for the HOOAH so that they can continue to put on these events and help them better their fight against Veteran Suicide!
